STR Management (Short Term Rental Management, LLC) is a family-owned, full-service short-term rental management company in Austin, Texas. We manage 200+ vacation rental homes in Austin, Lakeway, Lake Travis, Westlake, and Volente, and guests book them on Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Marriott Homes & Villas, Hopper, Google Vacation Rentals, and our own site, AustinVacay.com.

Our Story

STR Management grew out of real estate investing. Ames Brown and his then-girlfriend, now wife, started as real estate investors, and owning rental property led them into managing long-term rentals. In 2014 they co-founded STR Management to focus on short-term rentals, bringing an owner’s view of returns and property care to every home we manage.

Today they are raising three kids in Austin, and the company is still Austin founded, Austin owned, and Austin focused.

Ames Brown, CEO & Co-founder. Ames leads STR Management and is a licensed Texas real estate broker (TREC 634992). His background as a real estate investor shapes how we manage homes: like owners, with an eye on long-term property value as well as nightly revenue.

Many vacation rental managers rely on outside contractors for cleaning and maintenance. We don’t. STR Management is vertically integrated: our housekeepers, handymen, and field operations team are all STR Management employees, not subcontractors.
